Last night, guests, local dignitaries and representatives from the media joined the Gordon Chevrolet and Carlton Construction teams to celebrate the Gordon dealership renovation. Carlton completed the 10,000 square foot, nearly half-million-dollar facility enhancement in just 18 weeks while the dealership remained open and fully operational.
“This was one of the most rewarding renovation projects in my 16 years in the business,” said Clint Thomas, Vice President of Carlton Construction’s Commercial Division. “Intensive planning with the Gordon team and the flexibility of our contractors enabled us to complete the project quickly with minimal impact to Gordon’s daily business.”
The remodeling included a new entry tower in the iconic “Chevrolet Blue,” a new exterior using an environmentally-friendly aluminum composite metal (ACM) panel system, a storefront that extends from the showroom floor to the ceiling, and refurbished reception area, service area, parts shop and customer lounge. New acoustic ceiling panels, high efficiency lighting and new tile flooring were also included in the project. A high point was finishing the entire showroom renovation in just two weeks, with minimum disruption to the dealership’s sales operations.
“This project is a great example of our commercial construction management skills and processes,” said Matt Carlton, Carlton Construction President and founder. “It’s important that two local companies got to work together in this win-win situation.”
Gordon Chevrolet is located at 1166 Blanding Boulevard in Orange Park, Florida. The dealership offers a wide selection of new Chevy vehicles and dependable used cars, as well as service, parts and a body shop.
