Episcopal School Jacksonville is a private school that employs more than 200 teachers and enrolls approximately 1,300 students per year. The football stadium had not been renovated in decades when the school hired us in 2017 to lead a complete overhaul.
We constructed a precast concrete football stadium with a concessions area for football games and swim meets, interior weight training, coach’s office, and team meeting areas. We also built a new pool equipment storage building while re-piping and adding heating and cooling via a chilled and hot water exchanger. In addition to the main construction of the stadium, we upgraded the hardscape and landscaping in the surrounding area.
As an active campus project, it was imperative we did not interfere with classes. We implemented a phasing plan to minimize disturbance to the normal campus activities, even though construction began while the spring semester was in full swing. Basham & Lucas Design Group, Inc. worked as the architect.
